Catherine Lloyd Burns
Catherine Lloyd Burns (born April 19, 1961 in New York City , New York ) is an American actress . Burns is best known for her supporting role as Caroline Miller in the first season of Malcolm in the Middle .
Career
She made her debut as an actress in film and television in 1991 on an episode of Law & Order . This was followed by other appearances in series such as Party of Five and Emergency Room - Die Notaufnahme . In 1998 she got a starring role in the 18-part sitcom LateLine on the side of Al Franken and Sanaa Lathan . In 2000 she was cast in the role of Caroline Miller, the teacher of Malcolm ( Frankie Muniz ) in Malcolm in the Middle , which she played during the first season. Through this role she became known worldwide. After that, she left the series because of her pregnancy, but she still had two guest appearances in the second season. She played film roles in the films The Night with My Dream Man (1993), An Angel for Sam (1995), The War Makers (1997) and Keeping the Faith (2000).
Burns married writer and producer Adam Forgash and they have one child.
