The Cause is a river in France that runs in the Bouches-du-Rhône department , in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region . It rises in the limestone mountains Montagne Sainte-Victoire , northeast of the Pic des Mouches summit (1011 m), in the municipality of Vauvenargues , initially drains towards the northeast, then swings to west to southwest and after around 21 kilometers flows into the municipality of Le Tholonet as a right tributary into the arc .

Reservoirs

  • The Lac du Bimont reservoir, built in 1952, has an area of ​​73 hectares and a capacity of around 25 million cubic meters of water. The dam has a height of 87 meters. The pent-up water not only comes from the Cause River with its tributaries, but is supplemented by water from the Verdon River , which is fed through the artificial, partially underground canals of the Canal de Provence and together serve the water supply of Provence and its major cities.
