Birgitta Maria Cecilia Nilsson (born July 15, 1957 in Enskede ) is a Swedish actress .

biography

At the age of six, Cecilia Nilsson was already on the stage of the children's theater on Medborgarplatsen in Stockholm and in 1968 received her first role at the Royal Dramatic Theater ( Dramaten ) in Woyzeck . Between 1973 and 1975 she then ran the Fredax children's program , later renamed Lördags .

After these first stage and television experiences, she moved to the drama school in Stockholm from 1978 to 1981. After graduating, she got an engagement at the Helsingborg City Theater , but went back to Stockholm in 1983 and performed there until 1987 on the stage of the City Theater. In the following years she appeared in various theater and film productions, including in 2008 in Blommor av stål at the Vasateatern in Stockholm with Pernilla August , Suzanne Reuter , Gunilla Nyroos , Melinda Kinnaman and Linda Ulvaeus .

After receiving a nomination for the Swedish Guldbagge film award for best supporting actress in 2001 for the portrayal of a teacher in love in tin cans , she was only able to receive the award in 2012 for her role in Simon .

Cecilia Nilsson lives in Stockholm with her husband Krister Henriksson . They have one son.
