Celia Mara

Celia Mara ( Célia Mara ; * 1963 in Pedra Azul , Minas Gerais ) is a Brazilian singer-songwriter . She was born in Pedra Azul in 1963 and has lived in Europe since the 1990s, mainly in Vienna and partly in Salvador da Bahia .

Musically and politically, it can be assigned to the mestizo music movement , stylistically strongly influenced by Brazilian music , here v. a. the MPB , assigned to the superordinate genre of world music. She is, together with Silvia Jura and Susi Rogenhofer, co-founder of the movement femous: platform for famous female culture .

On March 8, 2011, she was granted dual citizenship in the interests of the Republic of Austria.
