Samair (officially Sayegh Aviation Europe ) was a Slovak charter airline based in Bratislava , which also used its aircraft in wet leasing for other airlines.

history

The airline was founded in February 2010 under the name Central Charter Airlines Slovakia in Bratislava. Flight operations began in July 2010. The Sayegh Group , based in the United Arab Emirates , acquired a majority stake in the company in spring 2011. The Slovak subsidiary was named Sayegh Aviation Europe on July 2, 2011 and then operated externally under the Samair brand . Flight operations were suspended in 2014 due to over-indebtedness .

Destinations

On behalf of European tour operators , Samair carried out IT charter flights for package travelers from the Czech Republic , Austria , Hungary and Slovakia to the Mediterranean region . In addition, the company used its machines for occasional services (ad hoc charter) within Europe.

fleet

As of December 2013, the Samair fleet consisted of four Boeing 737-400s . One of these Boeing 737s was leased in November 2013 by the Somali government, which was planning to resume flight operations for Somali Airlines .
