Air Slovakia was a Slovak airline based in Bratislava and based at MR Štefánik Airport there .

history

The airline was founded on June 2, 1993 under the name Air Terrex Slovakia and began operations on July 1, 1993. Since 1995 the name of the company has been Air Slovakia.

In July 2008 Air Slovakia suspended all flight connections, with the exception of the routes from Bratislava to Tel Aviv and Kuwait , and concentrated on charter traffic . Air Slovakia leased its aircraft to help with bottlenecks in charter traffic.

At the end of December 2008, Air Slovakia was in arrears with social security contributions amounting to 400,000 euros. At the beginning of March 2010, the company's operating license was withdrawn due to its financial situation, and debts are said to amount to several million euros. Air Slovakia filed for bankruptcy on May 25, 2010.
