Cerdas Barus
Cerdas Barus (born January 1, 1962 in Kabupaten Karo ) is an Indonesian chess player .
He played for Indonesia in seven Chess Olympiads : 1984 , 1988 - 1990 , 1994 - 1996 , 2000 - 2002 . He also took part in the Asian team championships four times (1987, 1993-1999).
In 1993 he became International Master , since August 2003 he has held the title of Grand Master . He achieved the norms for his grandmaster title in Jakarta in 1997 , in Vũng Tàu in 2000 and in Surabaya in 2002 .
