Cesanese

Cesanese is a family of red wine grapes . It is very old and is grown in Italy almost exclusively in the metropolitan city of Rome and the provinces of Latina and Frosinone (in Latium ). However, it is increasingly rare to find, although it can be used to produce good quality wine.

There are two variants:

The best Cesanese wines are produced in the wine-growing communities of Affile , Piglio and Olevano Romano . The two Cesanese varieties have a vineyard area of ​​around 2,300 hectares .
