The Chèze (also known as the Chaise ) is a river in France that runs in the Ille-et-Vilaine in the Brittany region . It has its source in the municipality of Plélan-le-Grand , generally drains east to northeast and flows into the Meu as a left tributary after 24 kilometers at the municipal boundary of Talensac and Bréal-sous-Montfort .

Hydrology

Above Saint-Thurial, the river has been dammed up into a seven-kilometer lake since 1975. It has a capacity of around 14.5 million m³ and is used to supply the city of Rennes with drinking water .
