The Chalaure at the height of the D 730

The Chalaure is a river in France that runs in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region . It rises near the hamlet of La Livardie , in the municipality of Saint-Aulaye , generally drains in a south-westerly direction through a sparsely populated area and flows into the Dronne as a left tributary after 20 kilometers in the local area of Les Églisottes (municipality of Les Églisottes-et-Chalaures ) . On its way it crosses the Dordogne and Gironde departments and meets the neighboring Charente-Maritime department at its mouth on the opposite side of the river .
