The Champions League of Darts is a darts tournament that is organized by the PDC . It took place for the first time in 2016 and took place at the Motorpoint Arena in Cardiff . In the final Phil Taylor was able to prevail with 11: 5 legs against Michael van Gerwen .
format
The top 8 of the PDC Order of Merit take part in the tournament, which is played over a weekend, at the time after the World Matchplay of the same year. In two groups of four, each player first competes against each other from his group. Then the first two of the group will meet the second in the other group in the semi-finals. The two winners of the semi-finals then play the overall winner of the tournament in the final.
All games are played in the best of legs mode.
