The Champions League of Darts is a major tournament in darts and was held for the first time in 2016 from September 24th to 25th by the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC). The venue was the Motorpoint Arena in Cardiff .

format

The eight top places in the Order of Merit at the time after the World Matchplay 2016 were eligible to participate .

In the Champions League of Darts, these eight participants are initially divided into two groups of four. After the first group game, the two winners of both groups and both pairs of losers meet before the semi-final pairings are determined after the final third game.

The two group winners will meet the runner-up from the other group. These two winners will eventually contest the final.
