Sport1 + (own spelling sport1 + , until July 18, 2013: SPORT1 + ) is a pay TV channel of Sport1 Medien AG . It is the sister station of Sport1 . The station started on October 4, 2010 in both an SD and an HD version.

history

On October 4, 2010, the pay-TV offshoot of Sport1 started with a slight delay, initially only on Kabel BW (October 4, 2010), Unitymedia (October 5, 2010) and Kabel Deutschland (November 9, 2010) in SD and HD could be received and is now also available in Austria and Switzerland . Since October 15, the station can also be booked for 60 euros per year via live stream over the Internet. Among other things, 85 additional games of the handball Bundesliga , more football games live ( Ligue 1 , Jupiler Pro League , Sky Bet Championship , Copa Libertadores , Copa Sudamericana ), the basketball Bundesliga live, tennis on the ATP tour ( Erste Bank Open ) will be shown. and the WTA Tour ( WTA Cincinnati ), motorsport (including FIM Speedway , the ADAC Masters Weekend races without commercial breaks, the Porsche Supercup races ) and the ice hockey world championship . The simultaneous cast operation of Sport1 + HD started on October 5, 2010 at Unitymedia. On November 10th, it was fed into Kabel Deutschland, and since December 1st, 2010 it has also been received by Kabel BW and Entertain. Since May 2011 Sport1 + can also be received via the cable networks of UPC Austria and upc cablecom in Austria and Switzerland. On June 11, 2012 it was announced that the German pay-TV provider Sky is planning to take over the Sport1 + HD channel on August 2, 2012 in its portfolio. The channel can be received with the HD option and one of the premium packages Sky Fußball Bundesliga or Sky Sport. With effect from June 28, 2018, the Sky channel was switched off. Since November 6, 2019, it can be booked there again for an additional fee.
