Charles F. Schwep
Charles Franklin Schwep (born July 7, 1919 in Somerset County , New Jersey , United States , † February 2, 1998 in West Nyack , New York , United States) was an American cameraman , producer , screenwriter and director of short films .
Live and act
Schwep went to school in Lawrenceville and studied at Princeton University before he had to interrupt his studies in 1941 and was drafted into the army. Immediately after the USA entered the war (December 1941) he was posted to the East Asian-Pacific region and served as a Signal Corps photo officer in the theaters of war in China, Burma and India. After his release into civilian life, he made contacts in the film industry and headed the small production company Trident Films.
Here Charles Schwep mainly developed action materials and was also involved in youth work by helping young New Yorkers with personal problems to solve them. Schwep also got involved in environmental issues. As a filmmaker, Charles Franklin Schwep rarely appeared. For his production The Creation of Woman he received an Oscar nomination in 1961 in the category Best Short Film and in the same year another nomination, this time for the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival .
