The Creation of Woman is a 1960 American-Indian short film directed by Charles F. Schwep .

action

As a dance, the film shows the story of the creation of women as told in Indian mythology . According to this, Brahma created the light, the firmament and finally man. Because he was alone, Brahma also created a bond between man and God. In order to create the woman, he no longer had any fixed elements available and therefore formed her from the trembling of the grass and the blooming of the flowers, among other things. Like the man, the woman is connected to Brahma by a bond.

Man and woman get to know each other. She throws away a flower he gives her. After a week the man complains to Brahma about the woman who is too clingy and always talks. Brahma takes it back at his request and gives it back to him when he feels alone without it. When the man goes to Brahma again because the woman makes him desperate, Brahma cuts the bond between him and the people and instructs them to get along alone in the future, since the man obviously cannot live with or without the woman.
