The village of Schloßberg is part of the Middle Franconian market of Schnaittach and has a predominantly rural character. All around are the mountains Pfaffenschlag (520 m), Hienberg (550 m), Weßlberg (544 m) and Altenberg (555 m). The neighboring towns are Simmelsdorf , Osternohe , Bondorf and Poppenhof . The place belongs to the district Osternohe. The Lords of Osternohe originally sat down in the village, later they built their Easter Castle on the Schlossberg. The most famous representative of the family was Poppo von Osternohe, who became Grand Master of the Teutonic Order in 1253 and was involved in the founding of Königsberg . The old castle has been demolished since 1773. The town of Schloßberg was not created until the 18th century, partly built with stones from the old castle ruins.
