The village of Haidling is a district of the Middle Franconian market Schnaittach on the Hersbrucker Alb . Haidling moves from to the people of a Heidilo . The ending -ing suggests that it must be a very old place. The hamlet is to the east of the Federal Highway 9 and is predominantly rural in character. It has around 25 agricultural buildings and houses and is located near Osternohe in the valley of the Osternoher Bach, which rises above the village. Immediately to the west is the Altenberg (555 m) and to the east the Osternoher Höhe (590 m). The neighboring towns are Diepoltsdorf , Reingrub , Götzlesberg , Frohnhof , Hormersdorf , Steinensittenbach , Obermühle , Entmersberg , Osternohe and Schloßberg .
