Charlie Colkett made his U-18 debut at the end of the 2011-12 season when he was 15. He made further progress and got more appearances in the 2012/13 season, scoring goals against Manchester City. Later that season, he received significant praise for his ads in the key stages of the NextGen Series and the FA Youth Cup , despite being one of the youngest players on the squad.
A pre-season injury prevented him from playing the first half of the 2013/14 season, so he could only make four starting XI appearances and seven appearances in total before Christmas. He scored two semi-final wins over Arsenal before making two crucial assists in the final ten minutes of the final against Fulham .

He strengthened physically and tactically throughout the year and ended the season when he joined the first team for a postseason tour to Thailand and Australia.
In the 2015/16 season he took on a leading role as one of the older players of the U-21s and played as captain for the ultimately successful UEFA Youth League and scored a goal in the semi-finals against Anderlecht.
