Charlotte Sieglin (born August 23, 1979 in Bremen ) is a German actress .

Career

Sieglin was discovered in 2000 by Dieter Braun. This was followed by basic acting training, drama lessons and role studies at the Folkwang Hochschule Schauspiel Bochum , as well as a workshop with Carolina Pecheny (Théâtre du Soleil), a workshop with Dominik Graf at the ifs and an invitation to participate in the Sat.1 Talent Class. Sieglin was in front of the camera for the first time in 2002 for the television film “Nette Menschen ”, and she shot her first feature film “ Klimt ” in 2005 alongside John Malkovich . For her portrayal in “Klimt” she was nominated by the Undine Award 2006 for “best young supporting actress in a movie”. Sieglin has so far achieved greater fame with her theater productions. In 2003 she played at the Schauspielhaus Bochum , in 2004 under the direction of Jürgen Gosch and Ernst Stötzner .

After filming “Klimt”, she switched to a permanent position at the Schwerin State Theater . In 2007 Sieglin played Luise Briest in “ Effi Briest ” and Käthchen in “ Das Käthchen von Heilbronn ” (directed by Peter Dehler). In the 2007 yearbook of Theater heute Sieglin was nominated for her portrayal of Kriemhild in Oliver Schmaering's “ Nibelungen ” as the highlight of the year or “Young Actress of the Year 2007”. In 2008 Sieglin was awarded the Conrad Ekhof Theater Prize.

During her intensive theatrical time in Schwerin, Sieglin found time for the short film projects “A Kind of Solitude”, “Night Trip” and “Men”, which, however, went unnoticed by the public. In spring 2009 Sieglin separated from the Schwerin State Theater. She currently lives and works freelance in Berlin.
