Chattuarier
The Chattuarier (also: chattuarii , Chattwarier , Chasuaren , Hasuarier , Chasuarier , Kasuarier and Attuarier ; Latin Attuarii and Atthuarii ; Greek Χαττουάριοι Chattouarioi ; Old English Hetware ) were a Rhein-Weser-Germanic tribe that originally probably in northern Hessen to Eder and Fulda settled, but in the first centuries after Christ moved to the area of the lower Ruhr , the Lippe and the Münsterland . The river name Hetter and some town names such as Hattingen still remind of them today. They were neighbors of the Brukterer and Chamaven and joined with these and other tribes in the 4th century to form the tribal union of the Rhine Franks .
After them was Hattuarien named, a medieval county in the Rhine-Frankish and Holy Roman Empire .
