reception
Neil Genzlinger of the New York Times described Chef's Table as an “elegant” cookery show that refreshingly goes in a completely different direction (“goes refreshingly in the opposite direction”) than many of the “absurdly tarted up.” absurdly ”) current cooking formats. Genzlinger also praised the selection of chefs portrayed in the first season, whose dishes, restaurants and philosophies differ greatly from one another (“each chef is different, not only in foods and restaurants but also in philosophy”).
Emily Buder of Indiewire.com gave the series an A- rating and called it the "reinvents the cooking show". Above all, Chef's Table offers a deep insight into the thoughts of the chefs (“entering the mind of the chef”), although they are always treated with respect (“respects the chefs”). Buder also praised the image design of the program as effective (“potent visuals”).
