Massimo Bottura (2012)

Massimo Bottura (born September 30, 1962 in Modena ) is an Italian chef . His style of cooking is dedicated to the renewal of traditional Italian cuisine . He is considered one of the most creative chefs in the world.

Life

After dropping out of his law studies, Bottura opened the Trattoria del Campazzo in Modena in 1986 - "bar, tobacco shop and bistro in one". In 1992, Alain Ducasse happened to go to the trattoria , after which he invited Bottura to join him in the "Restaurant Louis XV" in Monte Carlo .

Bottura spent the following time in New York . There he met the American curator Lara Gilmore a year later . The two later married and had two children. Gilmore was the greatest influence on his work alongside Italian cuisine.

In 1995 Bottura opened his second restaurant in Modena, the Osteria Francescana . He is the chef and owner at the same time . The Spanish chef Ferran Adrià ate with him in 2000 and invited him to his restaurant "El Bulli" on the Costa Brava for four months .

In 2002 Bottura's restaurant received a Michelin star , in 2005 a second.

In 2010, some of Massimo Bottura's creations related to works by the Italian artist Lucio Fontana , which were created in the 1960s under the titles Concetto Spaziale or Nature . Davide di Fabio has been the sous chef at the Osteria since 2007.

In November 2011 the Osteria Francescana received its third Michelin star.
