Cheikh Matar Guèye (born December 30, 1986 in Thiès ) is a Senegalese football player . He is right-footed and is preferred as a right full -back.

Career

Guèye learned to play football at his home club US Rail . In the summer of 2003 he moved to ASC Diaraf and played there for two seasons in the Senegalese Division 1 . For the 2005/06 season Guèye was obliged by the then French first division club FC Metz , where he was initially only a member of the reserve team. After the Lorraine were relegated to Ligue 2 in the same season , Guèye joined the first team's squad for the 2006/07 season . He completed 29 league games (one goal) in his premiere season and achieved immediate promotion with the team. Even after the promotion, Guèye remained a regular player, but in his 31 missions (one hit) could not prevent FC Metz from being relegated directly. In the three following seasons he played a total of 85 second division games (no goal), but could not rise again with the club. In August 2011 Guèye signed a two-year contract with the German second division promoted Dynamo Dresden . He played with Dynamo for three years to stay in class before the team had to relegate at the end of the 2013/14 season . He was then without a club for three months before the Romanian first division club CFR Cluj signed him in October 2014 . Here he was not used and terminated his contract at the beginning of 2015. Since summer 2015 he has played for JA Drancy in the fourth French league, the Championnat de France Amateur .

National team

On June 15, 2008 Guèye made his debut for the Senegalese national team when he came on for Papa Waigo N'Diaye in the 2-2 draw in the World Cup qualifier against Liberia in the second half and scored in the 55th minute 2-0 lead in the meantime. He then completed three more international matches (no hit), but has not been considered since October 2008.
