Chengqu ( 城区 , Chéngqū - "inner city district") was a Chinese municipality in the administrative area of the prefecture -level city of Datong in the north of Shanxi province . It had an area of 47 km² and at the end of 2013 had about 670,000 inhabitants. The municipality housed the center of Datong and also the city's government.
The 2000 population census showed a total population of 537,598 people in 177,291 households, including 268,243 men and 269,355 women.
Administrative structure
At the municipal level, the municipality was made up of fourteen street quarters. These goods:
- Dongjie Street District (东街 街道)
- Road quarter Xijie (西街街道)
- Road quarter Nanjie (南街街道)
- Road quarter Beijie (北街街道)
- Nanguan Street District (南 关 街道)
- Beiguan Street District (北 关 街道)
- Road quarter Xinjian Nanlu (新建南路街道)
- Road quarter Xinjian Beilu (新建北路街道)
- Road quarter Xinhua Jie (新华街街道)
- Road quarter Zhenhua Nanjie (振华南街街道)
- Daqing Lu Street District (大庆 路 街道)
- Road quarter Xiangyangli (向阳里街道)
- Xihua Yuan Street District (西 花园 街道)
- Laopingwang (老 平 旺 街道) street district .
The Chengqu District was dissolved in 2018. The new Pingcheng District was created from most of the Chengqu area and parts of the simultaneously disbanded Nanjiao District . The Xihua Yuan and Laopingwang neighborhoods became part of Yungang .
