Cheryl Chin (born November 11, 1979 in Singapore ) is a Singaporean actress .

Life

Chin spent three years as a child in Malaysia , her father's country of birth. After the divorce, her mother married an American , and the family moved to Virginia in 1993 . Chin moved back to Singapore in the late 1990s to pursue an acting career. She received a guest role in the sitcom Under One Roof in 1999 , but initially no follow-up offers. In 2003 and 2004 she was selected by the Singapore edition of FHM magazine in the list of the 100 Sexiest Women in the World . In 2003 she won the Singapore edition of Star Search and then took part in the Asian final show against competitors from the People's Republic of China and Malaysia, where she came second. She received a contract with Singapore's national television broadcaster Mediacorp and starred in various television series, television films and shows. In 2004 she returned to the United States.

In 2009 she starred in the television production Mongolian Death Worms alongside Sean Patrick Flanery and in the comedy film The 2 Bobs alongside Devin Ratray . The following year she could be seen in Robert Rodriguez 's machete alongside Robert De Niro , Jessica Alba and Jeff Fahey, among others. That same year she appeared in six episodes VH1 - Reality Show Dad Camp with.
