The Chevelon Creek is about 134 kilometers long left tributary of the Little Colorado River in the US state Arizona . It flows through the Chevelon Canyon in the Mogollon Rim in the Counties Navajo and Coconino .

course

The river is created at 2,141  m by the confluence of Woods Canyon Creek from Woods Canyon Lake from the left and the outflow of Willow Springs Canyon from Willow Springs Lake from the right in Navajo County.

It flows northeast through the Chevelon Canyon in the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests and absorbs the water of several canyons, especially from the right. At Weimer Point it is dammed to Chevelon Canyon Lake . Further downstream, West Chevelon Creek flows into the river from the left and, shortly afterwards, from the right the outflow of Wildcat Canyon flows into the river. At the Mitchell Windmill , it leaves the state forest and continues to meander northeast. It flows from the right of the Potato Wash and at the McCauley Sinks of the Rock Creek and several canyons. After Bell Cow Canyon from the right, it flows north in several arcs. Shortly before the estuary, after a bridge on Mc Laws Road , there is a small dam in the Chevelon Creek State Wildlife Area .

Finally, the Chevelon Creek flows into the Colorado River at 1494  m at Hibbard from the left and southeast.
