Chevron Engineering is a New Zealand manufacturer of automobiles . Another source uses the name Chevron Sports Cars . The company is based in Auckland .

Company history

The company began producing automobiles in 1984 or 1991 under the direction of Evan Fray. The brand name is Chevron , based on Chevron Cars . By 1996, 218 vehicles had been built, some of which were exported to Australia , Japan and New Guinea .

The offer includes sports cars that can also be used in car races. The first model had a ladder frame made of 38 mm diameter tubes. Front suspension and rear axle came from the Vauxhall Viva . Various four-cylinder engines from Ford with a displacement of 1600 cc and Toyota via a 4.4-liter engine from Leyland Motor Corporation of Australia up to V8 engines from Ford with a displacement of 5000 cc powered the vehicles.

The company names the models Aprisa , Cypher and Classic .
