Trekka was a New Zealand car brand.

Brand history

The company Motor Lines , headed by Phil Andrews imported vehicles from Škoda . From 1964 a multi-purpose vehicle was developed. Production began in 1966. The brand name was Trekka . Motor Holdings Group from Auckland , which assembled Škoda vehicles, continued production from 1967. Production ended in 1973. A total of around 2500 vehicles were built.

The only model was the Trekka . It was based on the chassis of the Škoda Octavia . A steel body was mounted on top. The cover above the loading area consisted of either fabric or fiberglass . The Octavia's four-cylinder engine powered the vehicle. It had 72 mm bore , 75 mm stroke , 1221 cm³ displacement and 35 kW (47 hp) power.
