The Chiantar Sar (also Koh-e-Chiantar ) is a mountain in the extreme northeast of the Hinduraj Mountains in Pakistan .
location
The Chiantar Sar is located on the border of the districts of Chitral in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Ghizer in the special territory of Gilgit-Baltistan . The mountain has a height of 6416 m . The Chiantar Glacier flows from its southwest slope in a westerly direction to the Yarkhun . On its northern slope, the Chhateboi Glacier flows north to the Karambar River. On its southeast slope, the Peking Glacier also flows east to the Karambar. The dominance reference point is the 17.7 kilometers to the east on the opposite side of the Karambar Valley in the Karakoram located Koz Sar .
Ascent history
The first ascent of Chiantar Sar was achieved by an Austrian expedition in 1967. Peter von Gizycki and Günter Plötz reached the summit on August 15th.
