The Darkot Pass (also Darkut ) is a 4650  m high mountain pass in Hinduraj in northern Pakistan , which is only accessible from May to October.

It connects the river valley of the Yarkhun in the district of Chitral in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on the north side with the Ghizer valley in the district of Ghizer of the special territory of Gilgit-Baltistan , the former northern areas of Pakistan in the south.

The glaciated pass is located about 18 kilometers east of the 6872  m high mountain Koyo Zom ( Koyo Zum ), the highest mountain in the Ghizer district. The village of Darkot is located 15 kilometers from the pass in the south . The south side is drained by the Darkot River, which later flows into the Ghizer . This river soon flows eastwards as the Gilgit and flows into the Indus east of the city of Gilgit .

The Yarkhun River on the north side of the pass flows west. Its water flows via Mastuj and Kunar to the southwest to the Kabul River in Afghanistan , which eventually flows back to the southeast to the Indus. On the north side of the Yarkhun Valley, about 20 kilometers from the Darkot Pass, lies the Broghol Pass , which connects Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with the Afghan Wakhan Corridor in the north .
