The Koyo Zom (also Koyo Zum ) is the highest mountain in the Hinduraj Mountains .

location

The Koyo Zom is located in the Chitral district of the Pakistani province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa not far from the border with the Ghizer district in the special territory of Gilgit-Baltistan . The mountain reaches a height of 6872  m (according to other sources 6889  m ). He is flanked by Pechusgletscher in the east and the Kotalkashgletscher in the West. Both glaciers feed the Yarkhun, which flows in the north .

Ascent history

The first ascent was achieved by an Austrian expedition led by Albert Stamm in 1968 over the east ridge. On August 17, Gerulf Wilhelm and Viktoria Hribar reached the summit.
