The Karambar Pass (also Karomber or Kromber Pass ) with an altitude of about 4310 m is a high mountain pass in Pakistan .
This pass connects the Yarkhun river valley in the Chitral district with the Karambar river valley in the Ishkoman district of the Ghizer district . The pass is located about 2 kilometers from the approximately 4 kilometers long Karambarsee in the west, which is dammed by an ice barrier and feeds the Karambar. The dammed up water of the lake shaped the Karambartal in the past and flooded it several times and caused destruction. To this day it threatens the villages down the valley.
The Karambar river is also called Ishkoman in the lower reaches and flows into the Gilgit at Gahkuch , which is called Ghizer above the confluence .
In the south of the pass is the Dusuk , a 5748 m high mountain. It forms the border triangle of Pakistan, Kashmir and Afghanistan . Broghol Pass is about 25 kilometers from Karambar Pass .
