Chie "Rii" Seike ( Japanese 清 家 ち え , Seika Chie or with the nickname リ ー , ; born May 4, 1974 in Kikuma (today: Imabari )) is a Japanese beach volleyball player .

Career

Seike played her first international tournaments in 1997 with Ryōko Tokuno . In 1998 she formed a duo with Yukiko Ishizaka . In the first year together there was a seventh place at the Espinho Open and two 17th places. At the 1999 World Cup in Marseille Ishizaka / Seike did not get beyond 33rd place. They then finished seventh again in Espinho. In 2000 they reached 13th place twice three times and finished numerous other tournaments in 17th place, including the Grand Slam in Chicago . They also competed at the Olympic Games in Sydney ; there they first lost the Japanese duel against Takahashi / Saiki and were eliminated with another defeat against the Italians Gattelli / Perrotta .

In 2001 Seike played with Chiho Torii . On the World Tour the best result was a 17th place at the Gran Canaria Open. At the World Championship in Klagenfurt , Seike / Torii got into the knockout round despite a defeat in the only preliminary round match. There they were subject to the Americans Youngs / Fontana . In 2002 Seike completed two Grand Slams and two Open tournaments with Noriko Aoki , without achieving any top placements. In 2003 she competed three times with Eiko Koizumi before forming a duo with Misaki Yamakawa . Seike / Yamakawa achieved their best result with 25th place at their home tournament in Osaka . At the 2003 World Cup in Rio de Janeiro , they had to say goodbye after the preliminary round as the bottom of the group. In 2005 Seike returned again for three tournaments with Miwa Asao .
