Yukiko Ishizaka ( Japanese 石 坂 有 紀 子 , Ishizaka Yukiko , born March 14, 1968 in Chigasaki ) is a Japanese beach volleyball player .

Career

Ishizaka played her first international tournaments in 1994 with Teruko Nakano . By 1996 Ishizaka / Nakano had three ninth places in open tournaments in Miami , Rio de Janeiro and Santos . In Carolina they finished eighth and later fifth. In 1996 they competed at the Olympic Games in Atlanta . There they lost to the German duo Bühler / Müsch in the first round . On the losing side, after beating the French Prawerman / Lesage in the second round , they had to admit defeat to the US duo Fontana / Hanley .

Ishizaka then formed a new duo with Yukiko Takahashi . At the first joint appearance on the World Tour, Ishizaka / Takahashi reached the final in Busan . As seventh in Jakarta and ninth in the Melbourne Open, they achieved further top ten results. At the first official World Cup in 1997 in Los Angeles , they came in 17th place.

In 1998, Ishizaka formed a duo with Chie Seike . In the first year together there was a seventh place in the Espinho- Open and two 17th places. At the 1999 World Cup in Marseille Ishizaka / Seike did not get beyond 33rd place. They then finished seventh again in Espinho. In 2000 they reached 13th place three times and finished numerous other tournaments in 17th place, including the Grand Slam in Chicago . They also competed at the Olympic Games in Sydney ; there they first lost the Japanese duel against Takahashi / Saiki and were eliminated with another defeat against the Italians Gattelli / Perrotta . 2001 Ishizaka played again with Takahashi at the tournament in Osaka .
