Teruko "Peko" Nakano ( Japanese 中 野 照 子 , Nakano Teruko or with the nickname ペ コ ; born October 3, 1965 in Hachiōji ) is a Japanese beach volleyball player .

Career

Nakano played her first international tournaments in 1994 with Yukiko Ishizaka . By 1996 Ishizaka / Nakano had three ninth places in open tournaments in Miami , Rio de Janeiro and Santos . In Carolina they finished eighth and later fifth. In 1996 they competed at the Olympic Games in Atlanta . There they lost to the German duo Bühler / Müsch in the first round . On the losing side, after beating the French Prawerman / Lesage in the second round , they had to admit defeat to the US duo Fontana / Hanley .

In 1998 Nakano formed a new duo with Kaori Tsuchiya . At their second joint open tournament in Osaka , Nakano / Tsuchiya reached 25th place. In 1999 they took part in the World Cup in Marseille and came in 41st place. The following year they were 25th at the Open tournaments in Espinho and Osaka and finished 17th in Dalian .
