Leonardo Bruno dos Santos Silva , called China , (born August 14, 1980 ) is a Brazilian soccer player. During the 2005/2006 season he was under contract with the German second division club VfL Bochum .

Career

China began his career in 1998 in the youth class of the club Bangu AC and rose in 2000 to the second division. From 2000 to 2003 he was with the club Bangu AC, with a short break in 2002, under contract. In 2002 he received a one-season contract with the SE Palmeiras club . Afterwards he was under contract with various Brazilian clubs. The Bochumers signed China at the beginning of the 2005/2006 season from the traditional Brazilian club Flamengo Rio de Janeiro as a defender. However, he was mainly used in the right midfield. His 'slanting eyes' earned him the nickname "China" from a former coach. China wore the number 2 shirt in Bochum. At the end of the 2005/2006 season his contract was not renewed and he returned to his home country. In 2006 he signed a contract with the club Paysandu SC . In the 2008/09 season he moved to the Portuguese club FC Paços de Ferreira . In 2010 he returned to his former youth club Bangu AC. After a season with two clubs, ABC Natal and Bonsucesso FC , he got a third contract with Bangu AC. He has been under contract with Olaria AC since 2015 .
