China Internet Information Center

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The China Internet Information Center ( Chinese  中国 互联网 新闻 中心 , Pinyin Zhōngguó Hùliánwǎng Xīnwén Zhōngxīn ; also 中国 网 / 网上 中国) is a web portal with verified approval of the legislature and administration of the People's Republic of China and is based in Beijing . The portal, which was founded in 2000, can be accessed on the World Wide Web under the locator china.org.cn . It offers current articles on "China news, weather, economy, travel, language courses, archive and more". It also manages a wiki whose entries are created by administrators .

content

The main content on china.org.cn is updated by employees of the state news agency Xinhua . The portal indicates that it disseminates the official view of the Chinese government on domestic and foreign policy issues. The range of topics is comparable to that of a news portal in North America or Europe. There is no discrimination on the website and the China Internet Information Center, as the official media channel, complies with the principles of diplomacy . German press law would allow the content offered under the keyword pluralism of opinion . Differing opinions on the current statements of the leading cadres of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) are not the subject of the website for the reasons mentioned. Since the Cultural Revolution of 1960, there has only been a moderate, controlled opening towards greater freedom of speech in the People's Republic , although the tonality and dogmatic intensity of the portal differ greatly from the openly propagandistic media offerings that existed in China, especially until the 1980s were published. Depending on the philosophy of the CCP, the tonality can change in both directions. The quality of the reports is essentially the same as that of international news agencies. For example, the number of victims in accidents matches the number of victims in other global intelligence services (as of 2016).

Language versions

The portal offers news in Arabic, Chinese ( traditional and simplified ), German, English, Esperanto , French, Korean, Russian and Spanish. The China Internet Information Center wiki is offered in English.
