Chinweoke Chikwelu

Chinweoke Chikwelu (born August 28, 1970 ) is a Nigerian javelin thrower and heptathlete . She was African champion in the javelin throw.

Life

Chikwelu took part in the African Athletics Championships in Lagos in 1989 , in the javelin discipline she threw a distance of 52.18 m and won the gold medal. She also competed in the heptathlon discipline at these African Championships, gaining 4501 points and thus receiving the bronze medal. At the Athletics World Cup in Barcelona in 1989 , she had reached a javelin throw of 49.08 m, which brought her to 8th place.
