Chisamba Lungu (born January 31, 1991 in Kafue ) is a Zambian football player . The player, mostly on the right wing, has been under contract with Buildcon FC since 2018 and won the Africa Cup with the Zambian national team in 2012 .

Career

Chisamba Lungu came to the 2007 season from his youth club Kafue FC on loan to Zanaco FC from Lusaka , who played in the Zambian Premier League . At Zanaco, he played under coach Wesley Mondo alongside numerous other talented young players, including Banda Henry , Ignitious Lwipa , Rogers Kola , Yorum Mwila and Stophira Sunzu . In November 2008 he and his compatriot Nathan Sinkala took part in several friendly matches in Russia as part of an Africa team, which were also attended by numerous European scouts. In the spring of 2009 he trained for three months with the Armenian first division club Pyunik Yerevan , before he finally received a contract with the Georgian first division club Baia Zugdidi in mid-2009 , where he was one of the top performers in relegation. His transfer rights were meanwhile with Lusaka Celtic , which maintains a cooperation with the Russian player agency ESA, which also looks after Lungu. After a season in Georgia Lungu moved in June 2010 to the Russian second division Ural Yekaterinburg , where he became the first African player in club history.

Lungu went through all Zambian selection teams. With the U-17 selection under coach Wedson Nyirenda , he failed in 2006 in qualifying for the U-17 African Championship in 2007 . In 2008 he was part of the Zambian league selection, which played against Botswana as part of qualifying for the 2009 African Nations Cup . In qualifying for the U-20 African Championship in 2009 , he played with the Zambian team in the first qualifying round against Mauritius, followed in December 2008 by winning the bronze medal at the SADC Zone Six U-20 tournament. After moving to Georgia, Lungu also trained with the Georgian U-21 team at times , but there was no change of association.

For the CECAFA Cup in December 2010, Lungu was appointed to the Zambian senior national team for the first time by national coach Dario Bonetti . He made his debut in the opening game against Tanzania , but broke his metatarsus in the 1-0 win and was unable to continue the tournament. Lungu played with the Zambian Olympic team (U-23) in qualifying for the 2012 Olympic Games in Great Britain and received ovations from the hosts' fans for his dribbling in a 1-0 win in Rwanda . The team was ultimately defeated by Algeria and thus missed participation in the U-23 African Championship and thus a possible qualification for the Olympic Games.

Under Bonetti's successor Hervé Renard , Lungu traveled to the training camp in India in November 2011 with a selection consisting mainly of players active in Zambia and recommended himself for a place in the squad at the 2012 African Cup of Nations . Renard the offensive right wing was subsequently as a full-back mobilized and ultimately nominated for the continental finals. Lungu started the first two tournament games against Senegal (2: 1) and Libya (2: 2) as the right full-back, but played a decisive role in all three goals conceded. For the last group game against co-hosts Equatorial Guinea, Lungu moved into midfield, a position he also played in the 3-0 quarter-final victory against Sudan . In the 1-0 success in the semifinals against the favored Ghanaians , Renard initially opted for a more defensive variant and replaced Lungu with Francis Kasonde , but Lungu came on during the second half. In the final against Ivory Coast he was again in the starting line-up and converted a penalty in the 8: 7 win on penalties.

In the summer of 2017 he was signed by the Turkish first division club Alanyaspor .
