Cho Sung-hwan ( kor. 조성환 ; born April 9, 1982 in Haman) is a South Korean football player .
Career
society
Cho Sung-hwan learned to play soccer on the high school team at Daeshin High School in Seoul . He signed his first contract in 2001 with Suwon Samsung Bluewings . The club from Suwon played in the first division, the K League 1 . With the club he celebrated his first championship in 2004 and victory in the Korean FA Cup . After 70 first division games he moved in 2005 to league rivals Pohang Steelers in Pohang . With the club he won the Korean FA Cup in 2008. In 2009 he went to Japan , where he signed a contract with Hokkaido Consadole Sapporo . With the club from Sapporo he played in the second division, the J2 League . In mid-2010 he returned to South Korea and joined the first division club Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors from Jeonju . With the club he celebrated a second place in the AFC Champions League in 2011 . After the end of his contract in mid-2012, he was without a contract or association until June 2013. On July 1, 2013, al-Hilal , a club from Saudi Arabia , signed him for six months. He then played for a year in Qatar , where he was on the pitch for Muaither SC from Muaither in the Qatar Stars League . In 2015 he went back to his homeland. Here he signed a contract with his former club Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors. With the club he celebrated three championships and won the AFC Champions League. After the end of his contract, he was without a contract or a club in 2019. In 2020 he signed a contract in Thailand with the second division club Nongbua Pitchaya FC from Nong Bua Lamphu .
National team
From 2002 to 2004 Cho Sung-hwan played 21 times in the U-23 national team . Since 2003 he has played four times for the national team of South Korea .
