Choi Bo-gun (born August 28, 1991 ) is a South Korean snowboarder . He starts in the parallel disciplines.

Career

Bo-gun started in Haus im Ennstal for the first time in the European Cup in December 2007 and finished 69th in the giant slalom. At the Snowboard World Championships 2009 in Gangwon , he won 46th place in the parallel slalom and 40th place in the parallel giant slalom. He made his debut in the Snowboard World Cup in March 2010 in Chiesa in Valmalenco , which he placed 36th in the parallel giant slalom. At the Snowboard World Championships 2011 in La Molina he came 34th in the parallel giant slalom and 27th in the parallel slalom. In January 2013 he won 51st place in parallel giant slalom and 36th place in parallel slalom at the 2013 Snowboard World Championships in Stoneham . In the 2014/15 season he won the silver medal in the parallel giant slalom at the 2015 Winter Universiade in Sierra Nevada . At the 2015 Snowboard World Championships on Kreischberg , he achieved 30th place in the parallel slalom and 23rd place in the parallel giant slalom. In the 2016/17 season he took third, second and first place in the European Cup, winning the parallel giant slalom ranking. At the Winter Asian Games 2017 in Sapporo , he won the silver medal in the giant slalom. In March 2017 he reached his first podium and top ten placement in the World Cup with third place in the parallel giant slalom in Kayseri . At the season highlight of the 2017 Snowboard World Championships in Sierra Nevada , he came in 18th place in the parallel slalom and 17th in the parallel giant slalom. The following year he won the 26th place in the parallel giant slalom at the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang . At the 2019 World Championships in Park City , he finished 39th in the parallel giant slalom and 24th in the parallel slalom.

Bo-gun has started 48 world cup races so far. He achieved a top 10 placement twice (as of December 27, 2019).
