Choi Byung-chul (born October 24, 1981 in Seoul ) is a former South Korean foil fencer .

successes

At the beginning of his international career, Choi Byung-chul was particularly successful with the team. He won bronze with her at the Asian Championships four times before winning the title in 2012 . At the 2007 World Cup in St. Petersburg , he also secured bronze with the team. He won other medals with the South Korean team at the Asian Games . In 2006 he won silver with her in Doha and in 2010 bronze in Guangzhou . At the 2010 Asian Games, he also won his first international medal in individual with the gold medal.

Choi participated in three Olympic Games . In 2004 he finished 14th in the individual in Athens , with the team he finished the competition in seventh place. At the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing , he was ninth in the individual. Four years later he moved into the semi-finals in London , where he was defeated by Alaaeldin Abouelkassem with 12:15. He won the battle for bronze against Andrea Baldini with 15:14.
