The Cholatse , also called Jobo Lhaptshan , is a six-thousander in the Khumbu region of the Himalayas in Nepal .

It is connected to the Taboche ( 6501  m ) by a long mountain ridge. The Chola Glacier flows from the eastern flank of the mountain. The name of the mountain is derived from its location above Lake Chola ( Chola Tsho ). The mountain is in the list of category "A" trekking peaks .

The first ascent of Cholatse was made on April 22, 1982 by Vern Clevenger , Galen Rowell , John Roskelley and Bill O'Connor over the southwest flank. The north side was climbed for the first time in 1984 .
