Chris Frazier

Christopher Dewayne Frazier (born July 20, 1990 in Mannheim ) is a German-American basketball player. He is currently under contract with the Wiha Panthers Schwenningen . Frazier is 1.82 meters tall and mostly plays in second position ( shooting guard ). He is best known as a good distance shooter.

career

Frazier is the son of a German mother and a US father who was a soldier in Germany. During his youth he played basketball at TSG Heidelberg and TSG Sandhausen and later at Heidelberg High School, an American school in Germany, where he also did athletics and American football. In 2009 he moved to the regional league club TV Schwetzingen . According to his own statement, he initially did not aim for a professional basketball career.

Between 2010 and 2014 he played at the University of Dubuque in the US state of Iowa , where he made a name for himself as an accurate distance thrower: In a total of 107 games for Dubuque, he hit 242 three-point throws (in 585 attempts, i.e. with a hit rate of 41.4 percent ).

For the 2014/15 season returned Frazier to Germany and to the third division joined BBC Magdeburg from the 2. Bundesliga Pro B on. He was used in 20 Pro-B games and averaged 16.1 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game. Frazier hit 69 of his 186 three-point throws during the season.

In July 2015, he signed a contract with Bundesliga club Crailsheim Merlins . He played 13 season games for Crailsheim (2.3 points on average) and was relegated with the team from the Bundesliga. Joined the season 2016/17 Frazier to the Artland Dragons in the third highest German league, the second Bundesliga Pro B . With 69 three-point throws hit, he was the second best ProB player in this category this season. Frazier made 25 appearances for the Quakenbrücker in 2016/17 and an average of 13 points per game.

In June 2017 he was signed by ProB league club Rostock Seawolves and won the runner-up with the Mecklenburgers in spring 2018, which meant promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga ProA. Frazier contributed an average of 9.9 points to this success in 31 games of the season. With 63 three-point throws hit, he was the best long-range shooter in Rostock. In the 2nd Bundesliga ProA in Rostock in the 2018/19 season he only had very limited playing times (6:42 minutes per match) and left the Hanseatic city in the summer break of 2019 for the Iserlohn Kangaroos (2nd Bundesliga ProB). For the team from the Sauerland , Frazier scored an average of 14.7 points per match during the 2019/20 season. His 64 three-point throws hit (with a success rate of 44.8 percent) were the team's maximum.

In June 2020, the Wiha Panthers Schwenningen (2nd Bundesliga ProA) announced his commitment.
