Chris Goudge
Chris Goudge (actually Christopher Edward Goudge; born March 4, 1935 in Prestwich , † November 7, 2010 in Devon ) was a British hurdler who had specialized in the 400-meter distance .
In 1958 he was starting for England at the British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Cardiff fifth over 440 yard hurdles. At the European Athletics Championships in Stockholm he came in sixth place.
At the Olympic Games in Rome in 1960 , he was eliminated in the preliminary run.
In 1959 he became English champion over the 440 yard hurdles. On August 4, 1958, he set an English record over this distance in London with 51.6 s (equivalent to 51.3 s over 400 m hurdles), which lasted until 1964.
