Chris Jordan

Chris Jordan-Bloch , real name Chris Jordan , (* 1963 in San Francisco ) is a filmmaker , photographer and social and environmental activist in Oklahoma . He works as a producer for the Earthjustice organization and lives in Seattle.

Life

Chris Jordan graduated from the University of Washington in 2003 and then worked as a newspaper photographer and multimedia journalist. He worked for newspapers in Illinois, Oregon, Montana and California before joining Earthjustice in 2010. In 2012 two of his films ( An Ill Wind and Finding Their Way ) were nominated for the Wild and Scenic Film Festival . His work has been recognized by the Best of Photojournalism , the National Press Photographers Association , the Atlanta Photojournalism Seminar , the Eddie Adams Workshop , the Associated Press, and the San Francisco Bay Area Press Photographers Association . Jordan-Bloch sees the combination of activism and multimedia storytelling as a good starting point to change something.

He has been married to Sara Bloch since 2011 and has been called Chris Jordan-Bloch ever since.

  • Midway (2009–2013) A documentary about the albatrosses on Midway in the South Pacific, suffering from plastic litter in the ocean.
