Christian Amling
Christian Amling (born May 23, 1953 in Frankfurt am Main ; † February 17, 2019 in Quedlinburg ) was a German physicist , author , city councilor and gallery owner in Quedlinburg.
Life
Amling, born in Frankfurt am Main in 1953, came to Quedlinburg in 1955. Between 1974 and 1979 he studied physics at the Technical University of Dresden specializing in theoretical physics . After completing his studies, he worked as a physicist in a pharmaceutical company until 1983. The years after that were characterized by the establishment of a ceramic workshop together with the ceramicist Dagmar B. Leinhos in a lonely forest house near Quedlinburg. After reunification in 1990, he organized various exhibitions in galleries, worked in local politics as a city councilor and as a member of the supervisory board of the Quedlinburger Stadtwerke. In 2005 he published the first novel, which formed the first volume of a regional series of twelve detective novels about the fictional private detective Irenäus Moll. In addition, other publications emerged, such as the volume on the Harz published by Hoffmann and Campe in 2012 . He died after a brief illness on February 17, 2019 (age: 65 years and 308 days).
