Christian Bode (Science Manager)

Heinz Christian Bode (* 1942 in Cottbus ) is a former German science manager. He was Secretary General of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) in Bonn.

Life

Bode studied law at the universities of Bonn , Berlin and Kiel . After the two state exams (1967 and 1971) and his doctorate (1971), he worked from 1972 to 1982 as a consultant in the Federal Ministry of Education and Science (first in the university department, then as head of the planning group). From 1982 to 1990 Bode was Secretary General of the West German Rectors' Conference in Bonn and finally switched to the same position on August 1, 1990 at the DAAD, where he worked until September 30, 2010. He was succeeded on October 1, 2010 by Dorothea Rüland .
