Christian Dietrich von Plettenberg

Christian Dietrich von Plettenberg (born March 8, 1647 in Lenhausen ; † 1694 ) was canon and cathedral scholaster in Hildesheim .

Life

Christian Dietrich von Plettenberg grew up as the son of Bernhard von Plettenberg zu Lenhausen (1615–1679) and his wife Odilia von Fürstenberg zu Schnellenberg and Waterlappe (1617–1683) in one of the oldest and most important Westphalian noble families . His siblings were:

  • Friedrich Christian (1644–1706, Prince-Bishop of Münster),
  • Friedrich Mauritz (1648–1714, Canon in Hildesheim and Münster),
  • Ferdinand (1650–1712, provost in Münster),
  • Wilhelm († 1711, Canon in Speyer and Landkomtur of the Teutonic Order),
  • Ursula Helena (1654–1720, ⚭ 1671 Franz Wilhelm von Galen zu Assen (1647–1718)) and
  • Johann Adolph (1655–1696, Chamberlain and Privy Councilor)
  • Bernhard (1657–1708, cathedral cantor in Paderborn).

After studying at the University of Marburg , Christian Dietrich chose a spiritual profession and became a priest. In 1669 he received a Dompräbende in Hildesheim and was here as Domscholaster operates.
