Christian Dolezal (born February 21, 1986 in Vienna ) is a former Austrian ice hockey player and current coach . Between 2003 and 2012 he was active as a player for the Vienna Capitals . Since the end of his career, he has looked after several junior teams in Vienna and has been the assistant coach of the first team since summer 2020.

Career

Dolezal started with the EAC Pinguinen (now Junior Capitals) at the age of four. In his youth he was called up to the Austrian U18 and later U20 national team of his age group.

After good performance in the U20 national team, he signed a professional contract with the Vienna Capitals in 2003 , but continued to play mainly for the U20 team of the Junior Capitals. In 2004 Dolezal finally made it to the Capitals' fighting team and was able to achieve the championship title with this in the 2004/05 season . In the following years he was able to establish himself with good performances in the team. Dolezal missed the 2009/10 season due to a protracted knee injury, but returned to the Capitals squad in August 2010.

In 2012 he did not receive a contract extension and was initially without a club before the Kapfenberg Bulls from the Inter-National League signed him on November 22, 2012. After the end of the 2013 season, he ended his career and coached the U18 Junior Capitals.

In the summer of 2020, Dolezal was promoted to assistant coach of the fighting team.
